My name is Lauren Mayo. I am an actor, producer, writer, and advocate of kind people with big dreams. I am Chicago born, Atlanta bred and, as of fall 2018,  Los Angeles residing. I'm excited about this next chapter and am ready to do the work. I currently study at Margie Haber Studio in West Hollywood. 

 

I have appeared on MTV's "Finding Carter", Tyler Perry's "If Loving You Is Wrong", TV One's "Merry Ex-Mas", TV One's "Justice By Any Means", Bounce TV's "Saints and Sinners" and more. I've held leading and supporting roles in several web series including "The Adjuncts",  "Sugar Maybe" and the popular first season of YouTube's "Girls Just Don't Do That". I starred as Imara Jones in the short "Architect Blues" and as Sheila Calloway in "I...Do". I was recently featured in campaigns for Universal Studios, Signature Style, ESPN SEC Network (voice), and Regal Hues. Theatre credits include For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When The Rainbow Was Enuf, Vagina Monologues and Beer & Bedtime Stories.

 

As a host and journalist, I have contributed to print and broadcast mediums such as ESPN’s SEC Network, CBS Radio, ESPNU, ESPN3, WNBA.com, The Athens Banner-Herald BLVD Magazine, Blossom TV, HER AGENDA and more. I have interviewed sports legends, Olympians, entrepreneurs, musicians and style icons alike. I moderate panels and host events such as moderating at the American Black Film Festival in Miami and guest speaking at the Girls Inc. Summit. I currently pen for Rolling Out Magazine and The Hype Magazine.
